Tailored to your needs, our conscious relaxation workshops combine gentle yoga, breathwork, and meditation to help you - and your nervous system - to relax, recover and reset.
Our 75, 90 or 120 minute workshops are the perfect antidote to stress.
They help to regulate your nervous system. When balanced and functioning
optimally, the nervous system creates adaptability, resilience
and a healthy immune response.

Our workshops incorporate:
Gentle, floor-based yoga - no yoga experience needed
-
Yin yoga - we gently stress our connective tissues - our ligaments, joints and fascia - with long, sleepy holds. These help to hydrate and nourish your tissues, as well as release tightness and any stored physical and emotional tension.

-
Restorative yoga - we use bolsters, blocks and blankets to support your body and allow it to completely relax and let go, bringing your nervous system down to zero.

Breathwork
-
We explore your current breath patterns and then use breathing exercises and techniques to stimulate the vagus nerve and soothe and regulate your nervous system.
Soma sensing, meditation and yoga nidra
-
We turn our gaze inwards for sensory awareness and self enquiry. By cultivating interoception - our ability to sense and interpret our internal state - we can regulate and integrate our emotions and stress responses more effectively.

-
Restoring our mind / body connection helps us to move out of autopilot - away from unconscious habits which can lead us to repeat behaviours and thought patterns without conscious choice.
Reiki
-
We can use reiki, optionally, during the poses - a 'hands-on' energy treatment to help restore the flow of energy running through your body. It can help you to feel calm and revitalised.
Relax...Recover...Reset
The benefits of conscious relaxation
Regular activation of the parasympathetic - 'rest and digest' nervous system response helps recalibrate the body’s stress response, making it easier to return to a state of calm, even in the face of stress.

Our workshops can help to:

-
Activate your 'rest and digest' mode, helping you to feel calm,
relaxed and clear-headed and less anxious, stressed and fearful.

-
Lower stress hormone levels and encourage the release of feel-good
hormones such as endorphins and serotonin.

-
Release any physical and emotional tension stored in the tissues.
-
Re-pattern maladaptive stress responses and survival reflexes.

-
Restore mind / body connection.

-
Release habitual tensing, holding, gripping or tightness which can
contribute to pain patterns.

-
Improve vagal tone.

-
Support the brain’s ability to create new, healthier pathways.

-
Move the nervous system out of 'stuck' states of hyper-vigilance
or dissociation.

-
Improve immune and endocrine regulation.

During the workshop you'll:

-
Stretch areas of your body that may have become tight with
prolonged sitting.

-
Learn techniques to quieten your mind.

-
Explore your personal breath patterns.

-
Focus your attention inwards, exploring your internal body
sensations and emotions.

Switch 'doing' for 'being'.
