Find your calm space

Tailored to your needs, our conscious relaxation workshops combine gentle floor-based stretching, breathwork, and meditation to help you - and your nervous system - to relax, recover and reset.

Our 2-hour relaxation workshops are the perfect antidote to stress and burnout.

They help to:

  ◦ Regulate your nervous system - helping you to feel calm.

  ◦ Train your nervous system - to handle stress with greater resilience.

Our capacity to adapt well in life - to respond to change with openness, ease and clarity

depends on our ability to regulate this system.

Our gentle floor-based workshops incorporate:

Yin yoga

We stretch to a point where we feel some sensation - definitely not pain. Then we breathe, relax, and hold for a few minutes and allow the:

  ◦ Body to soften

  ◦ Mind to calm

  ◦ Nervous system to regulate

This organic process trains the nervous system to handle stress with greater resilience making it possible to experience challenging sensations with a calm mind.

As our muscles relax, we target instead our connective tissues - ligaments, joints and fascia. These passive stretches help to nourish and hydrate your deep tissues, as well as release tightness and any stored physical and emotional tension.

Restorative yoga

We use bolsters, blocks and blankets to support your body and allow it to soften, to completely relax and let go, bringing your nervous system down to zero.

No experience of yoga needed.

Breathwork

We explore your current breath patterns - a great way to glean information about your current state of being. We then use breathing exercises and techniques to relax, stimulate the vagus nerve and soothe and regulate your nervous system.

Soma sensing, meditation and yoga nidra

We turn our gaze inwards for sensory awareness and self-enquiry. By cultivating interoception - our ability to sense and interpret our internal state - we can regulate and integrate our emotions and stress responses more effectively.

Restoring our mind / body connection helps us to move out of autopilot - away from unconscious  habits which can lead us to repeat behaviours and thought patterns without conscious choice.

Reiki

We can use reiki, optionally, during the poses - a 'hands-on' energy treatment to help restore the flow of energy running through your body. It can help you to feel calm and revitalised.

Relax...Recover...Reset

The Benefits

Regular activation of the parasympathetic nervous system response helps recalibrate the body’s stress response, making it easier to return to a state of calm, even in the face of stress.

Our relaxation workshops can help to:

  • Activate your parasympathetic - 'rest and digest' mode, helping you to feel calm, relaxed and clear-headed - and less anxious, stressed and fearful.

  • Encourage the release of feel-good hormones such as endorphins and serotonin.

  • Improve vagal tone.

  • Release any emotional tension that can get 'pushed down' and stored in our fascia.

  • Re-pattern maladaptive stress responses and survival reflexes.

  • Release habitual tensing, holding, gripping or tightness which can contribute to pain patterns.

  • Support the brain’s ability to create new, healthier pathways.

  • Move the nervous system out of 'stuck' states of hyper-vigilance or dissociation.

  • Improve immune and hormonal regulation.

       ◦ Stress
       ◦ Poor posture
       ◦ Lack of movement
       ◦ Dehydration
       ◦ Inflammation

  • Learn techniques to quieten your mind.

  • Explore your personal breath patterns.

  • Focus your attention inwards, exploring your internal body sensations and emotions.

  • Connect with stillness and enjoy the benefits that brings.

Meet Vicky

Hi, I'm Vicky.  I worked for over 25 years in London in corporate communications before knowing that I wanted to do something different in life.

Sitting behind a desk every day was taking its toll. I was suffering with my scoliosis, feeling constantly stressed and anxious, and was grieving the loss of my Mum.

As part of my own healing journey, I've always been interested in holistic wellbeing and complementary therapies. I’ve practiced yoga for 20 years and love the way it makes me feel. Wanting to share this with others, I decided to train as a therapeutic yoga teacher.

My teacher training included gentle yoga, breathwork, energy medicine, women's health and trauma-informed yoga.

I love seeing the impact that my embodied workshops have on the wellbeing of my clients.
